The ABS Story as told in Pictures

The Z Project... getting introduced

Last summer Mr. and Mrs. Z. contacted Architectural Building Systems (ABS) because they were intrigued by the off-site-built (modular) method of construction and liked the design character of the ABS houses that they had seen. This delightful couple lives in a Southeastern city. Several years ago, they purchased a piece of land on the coast with stunning marsh views. Mrs. Z is a school teacher and Mr. Z is a marketing executive and are empty-nestors. Their vision was to one day build a small cottage-getaway in the peaceful surroundings of their land. After several emails and phone calls, ABS architect Rob Hull and ABS construction head Kent Knapp met the Z's out at the site to get acquainted with their vision and their property.

This charming, ABS custom-designed cottage is the first off-site-built (modular) house in prestigious Palmetto Bluff Plantation located in Bluffton, South Carolina. The 1446 sq.ft. home was completed just 60 days after delivery to the site. It boasts an air-cleaning HVAC system, Rinnai, tankless waterheater and charming millwork and built-ins. The house proved to be a cost-effective alternative in Palmetto Bluff.
